Can I plug a USB powered light into my box so I can have light for the camera?

  Yes you can, actually I have it, but into a raspberry pi (however it's the same for the 'box: plug it into any free usb port)

  I was just thinking the same thing when I checked in on my print and only saw a little red LED moving blindly around in the dark.  I decided to just leave the room lights on but that's kinda overkill. 

  In fact the light could be programed to turn on only when a time-lapse picture was taken or the live video stream was turned on.  That way its not always on for no reason.
